Pest Control Safety First and Foremost

Some professional pest control products require that you wear some form of personal protection when you mix and apply their products, it is the law that you follow the label directions even when it comes to safety equipment. See a real chemical safety suit.

For example, you may not be aware that the professional pesticides or rodent poisons you will be using can make you sick or even in extreme cases cause death. You don’t need to be scared of them but you do have to develop a healthy respect for them.

Professional Strength Pesticides, insecticides, termiticides and rodent bait and poisons need to be handled with care.

  1. Long sleeved Tyvek Coveralls to protect your personal clothing from getting splashed.
  2. Goggles (non-vented) eye protection, important since poisoning through eye splash is the fastest way for poison make it into your system.
  3. Dust masks when you apply a pesticide dust (powder).
  4. Respirator (MSA Chemical style) when you apply mist or fog. Rare application for a homeowner.

These items are reusable and may not be required for every application, but when you need them, you need them!

Also, to avoid health risk households should not use these chemicals on their own and should take help from a professional pest control exterminator for the treatment of various pests through chemical pesticides.
